Do you need a bar chart in a hurry? Bar, column, and pie charts are tedious to make in InDesign and mysterious in Illustrator.
For InDesign, why not open this example .INDD file and copy and paste the example bar, column, or pie chart into your layout? Each example is scalable with text controlled by paragraph styles, and colors defined in swatches. Each example is well-organized in Layers, too, but be sure to set your Layers panel menu button flyout to "Paste Remembers Layers" if you copy it into your document.
Simply install and run the companion script, and you have a graph or chart ready to go. Customize it further, as you wish, by editing the paragraph styles and the swatches . Included in the zip file is an InDesign document with bar and column graph samples in three, four, five, and six columns. Each is ready for you to install and run the script to adjust the size percentages of each bar or column.
There is also an example of a pie chart. Select the circle and install and run the script to redraw the circle into pie segment percentages.
